Stephen Ministry
Our congregation’s Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are dealing with one of life’s struggles such as divorce or separation, illness, grief, loneliness, job loss and many more. A Stephen Minister meets with their care receiver once a week for about an hour to listen, care, encourage and pray with them. It can be a life-changing ministry for both the care receiver and the Stephen Minister.
How Do I Become a Stephen Minister?
Training is offered every February and meets once a week for about four months. Stephen Minister training will equip you to do an excellent job as a Stephen Minister as well as to improve the quality of all your relationships. Topics include listening, feelings, confidentiality, maintaining boundaries, ministering to people experiencing grief, divorce, hospitalization, illness and more. To find out more about Stephen Ministry training, contact Lynn Archibald, Director of Stephen Ministry, at 918-258-1505, ext. 207.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
At times we need something tangible to remind us of God's love! With this ministry, members knit or crochet prayer shawls. These shawls are blessed and prayed over before given to someone with a prayer need. A knitted shawl is on display in the Resource Center (SB100) along with instructions for crocheting or knitting a shawl. If you would like more details about how to participate, please call Faye Martin at 918-251-7264.
